Help US Navy Aviation Large Walk Around Bottle

Trying to ID this bottle it’s 22” tall.

 

Any help is appreciated.

I can't say I've ever seen a cylinder set up like this before. This is just a guess, but it may be part of a supplemental oxygen system.

 

The cylinder itself has a manufacturers date of May of 1954.

That is not a walk around bottle. Its made to be mounted. I would agree with it being supplemental or emergency back up. I have not seen one either, but that is very cool!

I'm going to guess the carry strap utilized the bracket mounting holes used to mount to the airframe...designed as a mounted bottle but converted to a walk around some time in its career...

 

This pic shows typical walk around bottles still used by the USAF...on the right is the red bag with smoke mask attached to a wall mounted walk around bottled that can be removed from its mount... unlike the OP that is bolted into its mount

Keeping in mind where and how the bottle was found, is it possible it was put together from assorted parts?  I have looked through everything I have and can't find anything like it. I can find some of the parts, but not the complete assembly.
