USN Aircrew Wings - Period?

I do not own this wing, but was wondering what period it might be from. It's 1-1/2-inch wide, appears to be silver tone, and is marked 'Vanguard N.Y." on the back, but no indication of metal content. WWII sweetheart pin perhaps?
