USMC Philippine Campaign Medal – 98 ---- Missing Enroute Notice

I am starting this topic to establish a written record of events surrounding this particular campaign medal.

 

Awarded to Robert E Connor, Sergeant, USS Wolverine

1908-1910 BB&B contract, split brooch with open catch and first ribbon. Clean ribbon and very nice planchet. See the photos.

 

Many of you have looked over this campaign medal when I placed it in the "For Sale" section.  I struck a deal with another Forum member, and it was mailed USPS, to him on 2/27/23 with an expected arrival date of 2/22/23.  The medal made it as far as Memphis, TN. and on 2/19/23 it went missing, no further scans of the tracking number were recorded.  I generated a Missing Mail Search Request with the USPS on 2/25/23.  There has been no further movement or scans of the package.

 

Like I said the medal is MISSING enroute to final destination.  Should it not however, and down the road, perhaps at a show or on-line, it pops up, it will be identifiable to any of you that might read this. I still hold out hope that it may get scanned and the tracking number goes active, and it completes its journey, in that case I will add a note to wrap this up.
