ChrisG43 Posted February 27, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2023 I asked a few days ago some A-2 Jackets here on the forum, I was able to complete a deal on those as well as other stuff. Everything named and documented to one veteran here in Idaho. The only thing that wasn't his are the boots, but they were included in the deal. ChrisG43 Posted February 27, 2023 Author Share #2 Posted February 27, 2023 Here is a link to the Vet's obituary.... https://www.bowmanfuneral.com/obituary/kenneth-boyington-ogden/ The obit states he flew P51's in the Phillipines? Does anyone know about the service of P51's in the Phillipines? Everything here isn't perfect, but it's all in ok condition and not falling apart, I intend to leave everything flat nothing drooping from hangars. Chris... warguy Posted February 27, 2023 Share #4 Posted February 27, 2023 Nice looking grouping Chris, these pics of the A2 are better than the first. I love to be proved wrong, those A3 pants are nice and I think it is cool that the B3 and A3 are the same maker, likely issued together. I think you did quite well. Congratulations. sundance Posted February 27, 2023 Share #5 Posted February 27, 2023 Looks like quite a grab. Nice group. Congrats. Interesting that the obit says he was shot down by an enemy sniper. Maybe those aircraft rear sights on Type 99 rifles really worked. Well, I'd say he got the last laugh in - living to 99. May he rest in peace. stratasfan Posted February 27, 2023 Share #8 Posted February 27, 2023 Cool! Seems he flew Sabre Jets in the 1950s! Here is a WWII article: Well, found more as I was going, so this does gives a good picture of his career and service! :) That is one cool grouping to a very cool veteran! ChrisG43 Posted February 28, 2023 Author Share #9 Posted February 28, 2023 For sure! Thanks for finding all these, which source did you use to look them up if I may ask? This really brings life to the grouping... Chris...

If you can't get the nice newspaper pic to blow up, I have it saved larger, and can email it to you directly, if you want.
