Picked this up from a local collector, its a 72 dated M72A2 law. Over all it's in pretty good shape, has the instructions still attached to the body and has inert painted on it. I will say, I'm not a huge fan with inert painted on the body, I think it would look better with that removed (however I won't actually be removing it). This is the second law I have owned, I sold my first one and regretted it. The first one I had I believe was 84 dated but I can't remember. The only thing on this law that has been replaced is that black square cover, everything else is original to the law. If anyone knows where to get an original black square cover or has an extra one they be willing to sell I'd be interested (i circled the part in red on the photo). Paid $200 for the law.

Nice find! You got it for a very reasonable price. Of course, the "INERT" marking was applied as the fired tube was used as a training aid. Very often the rubber trigger cover and sights are damaged. I never fired a live one, but the sub-caliber devices were pretty neat, fired a 9mm tracer round if I remember correctly. I heard a funny story from a VN vet friend of mine. Seems they worked with some ARVN troops and a couple of them really wanted one of the US LAWs. Well, in hindsight, against better judgement, they were given one. Not long after, there was a BOOM coming from one of the perimeter bunkers, a covered bunker. Contrary to what you may see in a RAMBO movie, the back blast of these things is not a joke! The ARVN guys had fired it, at least it was pointed out a firing port. Our guys went running over to see what was up and the two ARVN guys come staggering out of the bunker, I suspect they seriously damaged their hearing at the very least!

Yeah back blast from laws are seriously no joke, I find it funny how when Rambo fires the law in the helicopter in Rambo first blood part 2, the helicopter and pows just chilling in the back seat are completely fine lol. But when he told me $200 I knew I couldn't pass it up. The first law I owned had the training tube in it and fired the training rockets which are pretty rare to find nowadays. Heck laws in general are getting harder to find, especially Vietnam dated ones.

Back in the 1980s, I bought 15 LAW tubes - complete with luminous sights (often missing), and sling/covers for $20 each at an Ohio gun show.  The old days... The really funny thing is when I bought and sold (at the same show) an AT4 tube - again, complete, and saw it on local TV news that night. It seems the young man who bought it was playing soldier in his back yard, and a neighbor called the police. The tube was returned to him after a short interlude of confusion.

I still have it it's hanging up on my wall, I'm glad I bought it when I did, I'll take it to gun shows every so often. I always get offers for it and people asking if it's for sale. I know if I sell it I won't find another Vietnam dated one for quite some time. This is were it currently is on my wall. $20 each for m72 laws would be bargain prices today lol. Even adjusted for inflation that's only $72 a law. Kinda crazy to think about that 15 m72 laws in todays value would be $7,000-$10,000 depending on year and condition.
