cagedfalcon Posted February 17, 2023 #1 Posted February 17, 2023 First, yes I know this is a U.S. only forum.....but it came with the group. I waited 2.25 hours for the sale to open in low 30s weather. It was well worth the cold wait. 1919 RIA calvary canteen w/cup Complete gas mask set (nno string) Complete 6th Army helmet W.S. Co. Mess kit w/cutlery WW1 German helmet
manayunkman Posted February 17, 2023 #2 Posted February 17, 2023 WOW some great items, what a treasure. I know about sales and how the waiting period can be, so congratulations on this acquisition. Does the gas mask still have the small rubber bladder?
bertmedals Posted February 17, 2023 #3 Posted February 17, 2023 That looks well worth the wait! Congratualtions -- great stuff. Some of it looks like it could be identified to specific soldiers.
atb Posted February 17, 2023 #4 Posted February 17, 2023 Helmet insignia is for 6th Division, not Army.

My desire though would be the cavalry canteen cover, canteen & cup, a passion of mine within my collecting habit, wonderful clean appearance on all three pieces. . congratulations again, lewis. ...

Can I blame that on spell check? @manayunkman , no balloon: @General Apathy, I have a mint ww2 hanger too, trying to find a inexpensive mint 3pc to complete that set. @berthmadals, yes, if I have time. Thank you for the kind words. Paul
AustinO Posted February 18, 2023 #8 Posted February 18, 2023 Most 6th division helmets have that brown paint and are British made. Nice example! As a fellow estate sale picker, I know how cold that morning wait was!
Backtheattack Posted February 19, 2023 #11 Posted February 19, 2023 Great items, worth the waiting time!
