Fort Knox Troop Commander Metal Sign

I picked this up on a trip through Elizabethtown just outside Fort Knox years ago.  It was after the Armor Center left Knox so there was some Armor-related items dumped in surplus and flea markets in the area.  I found this sign (which apparently was just cut off the metal pole it was welded to) for $10.00 at a local flea market and snagged it.  (There were others that had gone through the same "just cut 'em off the pole" routine but were in terrible shape so I left them.)  If you look close, you can see the top of the pole jutting out of the top of the tank.

 

Nice souvenir of the end of an era for Knox.
