Tommy85 Posted February 2, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2023 hello, Can you help me to define the era to this 101st AB bullion patch ? It is a German made / a US made ? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks all.
Wake1941 Posted February 2, 2023 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2023 Would need to see the back, but my initial opinion is repro. Nowhere near German workmanship

Tommy85 Posted February 2, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted February 2, 2023 ok wake. Thank you. You have a visuel ? This reproduction is modern ?
snake36bravo Posted February 2, 2023 Share #6 Posted February 2, 2023 Yes, it's definitely a Paki fake as identified by Wake. If you pulled that paper on the back it would be thickly threaded. They are commonly sold as a 'reunion patch' to give them credibility when they are just 100% fake.
Tommy85 Posted February 2, 2023 Author Share #7 Posted February 2, 2023 Thanks for information Snake. Both of you help is greatly appreciated ! I bought this bullion patch in this batch. Maybe you can help me identify the eras of these other patches?
tredhed2 Posted February 2, 2023 Share #8 Posted February 2, 2023 Your black and gold AIRBORNE tab is 1968 or later (probably 70s) the patch is c. earlier - they do not match time frames
snake36bravo Posted February 2, 2023 Share #9 Posted February 2, 2023 Cut Edge SF Arrowhead is 1960s vintage and typical of what would've been seen during the Vietnam War. This merrowed edge Airborne tab is post-Vietnam war and has a glue back. IMO its later than 70s but that's just my opinion, not fact. These are referred to as heat-n-seal or hotseal patches in the industry. I'd also love to learn more about when they first appeared. I wont comment on the ovals other than to say I don't believe they are WW2 and are likely 50s.
Tommy85 Posted February 3, 2023 Author Share #10 Posted February 3, 2023 Hi, Thanks for information Snake and Tredhed. I greatly appreciate your help. It remains to identify the era of the ovals... Era ? - Red and yellow/red border, is HQ or command Airborne Jump Wing Oval ? Era ? Best regards
