Mark 2 Posted January 28, 2023 #1 Posted January 28, 2023 Hello forum What was the correct olive drab (paint code or number) for the WW2 U.S. pinapple grenade MK11. I'm desperate to know as i have a bare metal MK11 body that i want to paint in original WW2 color.
ordnance Posted January 29, 2023 #2 Posted January 29, 2023 Most were painted with lusterless olive drab ammunition lacquer, shade 319.

Iv'e been lokking up - No 22 - No 9 - MS 34087 - No613 - No FS 34088 - No 319 - its all quite confusing, but like you said in your reply, 319 is the shade i think i'll use. Thanks.
917601 Posted January 29, 2023 #4 Posted January 29, 2023 I remember FS 34088 ( Fed Standard) used late war, Korea. I have a late war dated 1945 75mm Recoilless in original colors and the OD matched the 34088.
917601 Posted January 29, 2023 #5 Posted January 29, 2023 By the way, Hobby Lobby carries many Fed Standard color paints.
eaglerunner88 Posted January 29, 2023 #6 Posted January 29, 2023 Either of these would suffice. Personally, I use the one on the left for MK II frags, as well as for helmets repaints, and the one on the right for 30 cal ammo cans.
