m1873 bayonet scabbard help

I have a m1873 socket bayonet and scabbard that I recently bought. The scabbard is the type with the leather belt loop, my problem is that I see that these scabbards are supposed to have a U.S. stamp on the loop rivet but mine is smooth. Any ideas on why? I was thinking it could be a repair.

Thanks.

There are state guard or militia scabbards that essentially follow the regular army pattern but use a plain or smooth face button type swivel.  This sounds like what you have without a picture.

Not promoting Stewarts but assuming this is the scabbard you're referring to. These scabbards can also be found with state initials on the rivet.

Thats what it looks like. Just the backing is a little different.
