Here are some of my recent patch finds.

 

Vietnam made? stripes and nametape.

 

Various squadron and MAJCOM patches

 

Old USAF Basic Military Training Squadron patches

Upper right 3703 BMTS squadron patch now the 323d TRS

Bottom left 3723 BMTS squadron patch now the 330th TRS

Bottom right 3701 BMTS squadron patch now the 321st TRS

Ha! You found my old basic training squadron patch, the 3723rd BMTS! Those were worn on those newbie jackets you could buy at the bx....

 

The stripes definately look Vietnam. The California Wing patch is screaming CAP.

The rank insignia could be Vietnamese made, but could also have been made in Thailand or Korea. They look to have been made by hand guided sewing machine.

 

The color name tape was also made by hand guided sewing machine. (Imagine cranking these out by the dozens day after day!) Based on the style, width of and thickness of the embroidery, I am going guess this was made in Korea. It's unfortunate these get separated from their full uniform, as that would give us a better idea.

Great point on the USAF tape.I was thinking the same as the size and constuction of the letters looked hand/theatre done.Some pretty nice patches came out of Thailand and I think they are often overlooked

Is the rank insignia Black stripes on Green, Nam era?

 

Or Blue on Green, 1980s on?

 

I do agree Asian made, more than likely, Korean.
