Misfit 45 Posted January 11, 2023 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2023 I have overpaid for a lot of bayonets in the last few years, but I vowed NEVER to pay the crazy high prices I see for the long Wilde Tool M1905. I simply resigned myself to never owning one. Until, I found this one on Ebay. It had just been listed, as "1942 Bayonet with scabbard". The starting bid was $200. and it also had a "make offer" button. I offered $350.....20 minutes later it was mine. It is not pristine, but it hasn't been abused either. Also, it came with a Detroit Gasket scabbard. Happy Camper! Marv

hyrax222 Posted January 11, 2023 Share #4 Posted January 11, 2023 I comb the auctions daily. Somehow I missed this one! Timing is everything... Well bought Misfit 45! The scales alone are worth the purchase price. hyrax222
SKIPH Posted January 11, 2023 Share #5 Posted January 11, 2023 Marv- Great find ! How lucky can you get for $350, and a 20 minute turn around. SKIP
cgutierrez Posted January 11, 2023 Share #6 Posted January 11, 2023 Great score! The scabbard's body has a DETROIT GASKET look to it. Is the scabbard a DG? If so, that would be a double score. TIA CG
hyrax222 Posted January 12, 2023 Share #7 Posted January 12, 2023 Misfit 45- Well, lightning strikes twice! Not to steal your thunder but I found a WT 1943 that was very nice a week ago. It fills a long empty space in my "stuff". Love the brown with black spots scales! hyrax222

Also....Great find hyrax222, the 1943 is even more rare. Marv
