So I ordere this uniform, and I’m not an expert on Army Air Force uniforms. I have an army version with a brown button right where the buckle is. Do I sew the missing ones with the gold buttons?

That’s correct, you should be able to find one on eBay relatively easy and cheap.

Yes, you'll want a matching gold button sewn on the new AAC jacket where its missing. Technically, you could move the bottom gold button up from the jacket as the one under the cloth belt should be a flat plastic brown button.

Do you think it’s a custom tailored? I see that because the belt is almost all the way sewed on

Yes. Those made it quick to remove buttons for laundering.

When you get the time could you post the rear of the wings, and other insignia?

The colonel pins are good, here are the US and AAF ones

Those are nice clasps. That pin will save you some work!

Any close ups of the wings front and back?

Dave

It’s sterling! And they are clasps

So the missing button, I’m going to replace that with a gold button.

The bottom button should be flat plastic, probably brown or green.  The top three are gold.

Do u have a link for a button?

Also, should I move the bottom gold one up? Or do u think it supposed to go there. Most of this uniform is tailored at this point

Caleb,

You should move the bottom button up to where the other one is missing. Officer's blouses had three gold buttons for closing the jacket and one brown or green plastic button that was hidden by the belt.

I'll be happy to send you a plain button for your blouse. You don't need another eagle button.

PM me with your address.

Allan
