African American Faces of the Civil War by Ronald Coddington

Guess I'm a little late to the party since it was published in 2012, but I just finished Ronald S. Coddington's book African American Faces of the Civil War. Really enjoyed it and very interesting. Each chapter presents a period African American image accompanied by his story. My biggest takeaway was the reminder that a soldier's history doesn't end upon discharge. Post war history and family is all part of the story.

This just became my top of list book. I've been hitting Greg Coco's books pretty hard lately. Will definitely have this on order tonight (hopefully). Thanks for bringing to my attention!
