Usa1918 Posted January 4, 2023 #1 Posted January 4, 2023 Not a wing per se, but a unique grouping none the less (Moderators move if you like). Flight Sgt Edgar Eugene Renfro enlisted on 25 Apr 1917 and was assigned to the 28th Aero Sqd at Kelly Field for training. Transferred to the 28th Aero Sqd and transported to France on Mar 18, 1918. Upon arrival, he was temporarily assigned to the 183rd Flight Detachment, British Expeditionary Force Northern France, then on active fronts with the 258th Aero Sqd through the end of the war. He passed the competitive exam for training as a pilot on 1 Oct 1918, but the signing of the armistice prevented completion. I just received his grouping and have just begun his research

warguy Posted January 4, 2023 #6 Posted January 4, 2023 Congratulations, that is a nice looking grouping. Finding an interest myself in WWI aviation. That will make a beautiful display. Kevin
