Here are two very common War Service medals made by Richard Simm in their original packets brought home by an American Captain.

It appears that they were gifted by Chinese displaced persons in Berlin July 1945.

 

“Mr” Shubow is actually a Jewish chaplain who worked with DPs as the war ended and for several months after the end of hostilities.

 

The Germans had a small population of Chinese and eventually sent those that wouldn’t leave Germany to forced labor camps.

Very interesting and somewhere I remember reading that German awards were scattered all about in the RK in Berlin.
