Dannyjunkfish Posted December 27, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2022 Hi guys, Picked up this U.S. WWII M1 Carbine short hip holster. The short holster was specifically designed for troops that could not be encumbered by carrying a rifle over the shoulder with a sling or in their hands. The ingenious short holster allowed the user to have both hands free by allowing the M1936 pistol belt to slide between the scabbard and the canvas heavy hip pad so the soldier could wear his carbine on his hip (cross draw). These holsters were designed for the full-length M1 carbine, not the folding stock M1A1 that fits in the paratrooper or parachutist's canvas holster. This came from a Gunbroker auction. I thought it went for a very fair price. Never even heard of these till I saw the listing! Thanks for looking, -D

M422A1 Posted December 28, 2022 Share #4 Posted December 28, 2022 I used to have one of those back in the nineties. I looked for one for years before I found one at a local gun show. Bought it immediately. Sold it years later, should have kept it…

I have the perfect carbine for it. So it’s a keeper.
