ocsfollowme Posted December 27, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2022 This just sold for $635 and I am pretty sure it is a newer reproduction. Hopefully the buyer can get their money back. Thoughts? What a real one looks like
walika Posted December 27, 2022 Share #2 Posted December 27, 2022 The patch sold on eBay is a reproduction of the original WWII issue shown in my post.
mortaydc60 Posted December 27, 2022 Share #3 Posted December 27, 2022 100% agree, not high quality ar all and even looks like the bad stuff that comes out of England for the WW2 squadrons

mortaydc60 Posted December 30, 2022 Share #5 Posted December 30, 2022 To add insult to injury the seller has several more Marine squadrons for sale that are also reproductions. Surprised that it sold since quality of workmanship is pretty low.
walika Posted December 30, 2022 Share #6 Posted December 30, 2022 Four reproduction insignia from the same seller are now on eBay, advertised as "in country" made. They are reproductions/fakes, now WWII-era made. Tip: Generally speaking, the embroidered on wool theater-made WWII-era squadron patches were made in Australia or the United States, not in Asia. None of the WWII-era USMC squadron insignia had embroidery such as these reproductions. The back of each patch is a giveaway if you are not sure of the front.
