patrick_usmc Posted December 26, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 26, 2022 Hello everyone, and merry Christmas! This paper flag, roughly 8.5” x 11”, came in a grouping I recently acquired, from a Marine named Ralph Goehring who served with the 2nd Battalion, First Marines on Okinawa. He had attached a paper tag to it that said “Okinawa”, so my assumption is that he acquired it there. However, it’s just a simple little paper flag. A cursory google search shows some very similar flags listed as items made to put in windows, etc. for parades. It has a little black tab in the top corner, which I’m assuming was to attach it to a string, stick, etc. I know very little about Japanese items, so I thought I’d ask - does anybody have more detail about these types of flags? Is there anything more to know? Thanks so much! Patrick
