Hi there

I registered on your forum because I am looking for information about Captain Georges Larson who was staying with my family in November 1944 in a small town located in the north east of France in Lorraine on the banks of the Moselle river . This town is called Pagny sur Moselle. I have several photographs including the one I put online. We see my grandparents driving an American army jeep: From the registration number, is it possible to know Captain Larson's regiment? How do I find information about Captain Larson? Thank you for your help Laurent Veltin

If I'm not mistaken, those markings indicate 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment (3rd Infantry Division). They did operate in that area during that time.

I'm gonna take a guess myself..... This is based on what I've seen with looking at pics of 29thID vehicle markings.

Pass. side of bumper....

3= 3rd Division

15= 15th Regiment

I= Infantry

Driver's side...

H= Company H

10= Vehicle # in Co. motorpool.
