tdogchristy90 Posted November 29, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2022 I picked this view-box up from university products to display this medal shipping box. As you can see there is no room on the sides and the walls are basically touching the sides of the object. Now I must say, there was no forcing or making it fit. So that’s not much of an issue. This was just the best size option they had for what I was doing. Does anyone see any preservation issue with not having any room on the sides? gitana Posted November 29, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2022 I'd prefer it to have a little room on each side, but as long as you don't give it a vigorous shake each morning it should be fine.
Rakkasan187 Posted November 29, 2022 Share #3 Posted November 29, 2022 Line the box with some tissue paper to avoid any rubbing of the cardboard box on the archival box.. Leigh
Bluehawk Posted December 7, 2022 Share #4 Posted December 7, 2022 As an aside, Hollinger (such as illustrated) and Solander boxes can both be made to exact size on order from manufacturer - not cheap, but...
tdogchristy90 Posted December 7, 2022 Author Share #5 Posted December 7, 2022 Here is the final product. Was able to pad it in archival paper and put the lid on. I’m happy with how it turned out, i’ll keep an eye on it to make sure no issues.
