Garandy Posted November 19, 2022 #1 Posted November 19, 2022 St Louis but is it original or not? Looks bright
robinb Posted November 20, 2022 #2 Posted November 20, 2022 Yes, original. Just bright because someone polished them.
Helodoc2 Posted June 1, 2025 #4 Posted June 1, 2025 From the marks on the bullet heads and case mouths, these do not appear to be original/unaltered. I would guess that the heads have been pulled and re-inserted. Only a guess, but I have never seen marks like this on original ammo. The staked primers are very interesting.

Shake them to see if any powder is present….but that doesn’t confirm, I have examples that the projectile was pulled, filled with cat litter, then projectile pressed back in. They do appear to have been pulled and reseated. Weight of my original unmolested, 120 grams, you can also check the TM for overall length. Another one ( DM) has staked primers, commonly seen with .50 for aircraft MG’s.
917601 Posted June 1, 2025 #6 Posted June 1, 2025 Note: the DM .50 had been jacked with, projectile pulled, cat litter filled, reseated and the primer messed with, but yo7 can still see the staking.
