Capt.Confederacy Posted November 16, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2022 I just picked up a new heavily-used patch with an odd construction and was wondering if anyone had a guess as to the place of manufacture. It almost makes me think German-made but it looks a bit off for that. However, that could be just the wear and tear from use. Thanks in advance. ocsfollowme Posted November 17, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 17, 2022 IMHO US made. I believe the Kelly Green border variation is German.

lamarhooten Posted November 17, 2022 Share #4 Posted November 17, 2022 I say it is an early GEMSCO made one. The patterned thread design is a GEMSCO tell. White back too.
lamarhooten Posted November 17, 2022 Share #5 Posted November 17, 2022 Forgot the little head on GEMSCO style too. Although the head on the one shown and the one I have shown are somewhat different but still the small style. The patch on the far right is the one I am speaking about just to keep things clear. And my patch has very little of the white back also. I believe the first patch shown is an earlier version of a GEMSCO patch.

Bill K Posted November 22, 2022 Share #7 Posted November 22, 2022 Hi Guys, The kelly green and this brown border style patch are identical in terms of embroidery pattern (and size). I was told by Bob Buchannan, who has been collecting 45th's since forever, that both of these are German made.
