dga99 Posted November 15, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2022 Was the “France War Aid” patch authorized by the US Army in WWII to be worn on the uniform? Is the “7th Army” patch in this picture worn in the correct position (lower right sleeve) according to US Army WWII regulations? Would an infantry regiment be authorized to wear the patch? dga99 Posted November 15, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted November 15, 2022 What about the location of the 7th Army patch. Is it within regulations?
tredhed2 Posted November 16, 2022 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2022 Shoulder sleeve insignia were authorized to be worn on the shoulders ( hence, the name) but GIs wore what they could get away with. Specific patches were authorized for separate infantry regiments, and this GI made have served in both an infantry unit and the 7th Army, perhaps a low point man, but see the above paragraph.
