Question about 438th FIS patches

Was looking at the usmilitarypatches website today and had a question about patches for the 438t FIS. Both of the images below are from that website. Just curious if anyone knows what the difference is between the left facing and right facing Donald Ducks is? The one on the right is going the correct way. It was used in the 60s. I have no idea as to why the other was done. Everything about it is wrong, and yet it was worn. Attached is a pic from 1959 that will prove it!

Thank you Randy, I appreciate it. It looks like everyone in the photo with the patch on their jackets has the left facing version. Great photo by the way.
