Picked these up yesterday. One is on 3 color desert camo, the other is a green one sewn to a tan one. Modern stuff isn't my thing. What are these for? Theatre made? Opinions?

They are for wear on the gortex jacket. They come in various sizes and colors as they are made by various manufacturers. I couldn't tell you for certain if yours are theater-made or not.

thanks Ski.. Don't know anything really about modern stuf. Gortex was a new thing in the early 90's. I saw it, but never used or owned any.. The borders just looked odd on these, but I've never had anything like these before, so figured I'd be safe and check.

There's nothing to it really. Here is a poor shot of my gortex showing where the rank goes. With the new Air Force ABU's, these will go by the wayside by 2011..... I think the Gortex was a great idea. Wearing that with the issue fleece beats the field jacket by a country mile!
