graham Posted March 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2009 this wing is die struck with a pin that opens about 75 degrees, its marked in raised letters STERLING and LEVELLE & Co. WASHINGTON, D.C. PHILA, PA. This maker Ive seen more often on D,U,Is. Theres not much sign of solder where the pin is attached. Oppinions please - ww2, post war, repro ??? I tend to think of it as a GEMSCO wing as it is found with both GEMSCO and AMICO marks as well as this one style only LeVelle production. The wings I've seen with the GEMSCO and AMICO marks are frequently later styles such as crash crew and some silver FS wings.
