For most of the contracts for these it seems I had the most trouble getting 1915 dated ones.

One J & J the rest B & B of those two are Navy

I think we all know the most prolific M1907 dated pack is the Nov 2, 1916.

It seems that 1916 was a big production/contract year compared to other pre WW1 dates.

Does anyone have a date in 1916 that is not represented below?

Upper left is a Navy one.

Marchville1918

is it correct that the very early first aid packets had clips attached to them and clipped directly onto the belt not using a pouch at all? I think that I can recall seeing pictures of this type being worn in the 1914 Vera Cruz landings.

I've seen quite a few pictures from the Vera Cruz era showing just one hook being used that I have to wonder if some Marines did this on purpose.

I think the November 1916 contract was extended to fill the need as the Army entered the war. Here are my Army 1916's, same dates as yours Pep.

Found a picture of my 1906 packet. This design didn't last long.

Thanks Tim,

I wondered why the Nov 2, 1916 was the one seen most.

I also have a unopened M1906 tin with hangers.  Hard to come by.

It just seem that most years had only one or two contract dates.

Backtheattack

Very interesting to read about the version with 2 hangers. Have a common 1916 army version, and a 1918 navy one.
