101st Inf Reg 26th ID WWI group

Met with grandson of Louis Tolstrup and obtained this grouping of helmet and ordnance bringbacks.

Helmet with 101st emblem, british mills no 5, french F1 & citron grenades and german m1917 stick grenade.

According to Tolstrup discharge papers found on Ancestry.com - 

 

Louis Tolstrup PVT 1st class in 101st inf reg co. L

participated in the following campaigns - 

Chemin Des Dames - 2/7/18-3/19/18

Saul Sector - 4/1/18-5/31/18

2nd battle of Marne - 7/6/18-7/26/18

Saint Mihiel Salient - 10/19/18

Meuse-Argonne Offensive - 10/10/18-11/?/18

 

he was also listed as wounded - "gassed".
