MKII Practice Grenade?

Black body with traces of blue,

no spoon

the body is hollow, and looks to be something stamped in body, but too much paint to read it..

does it stand a chance of being a legit wartime grenade?

That is a legit MK2 practice grenade, it is WW2 era to Korea. Notice the offset hole in the bottom, that is generally considered a MK2 practice/trainer. I was told years ago that these were most likely rejected/bad cast bodies that were put to use as trainers, instead of just trashing them. Making use of what would normally just get remelted..

reading up on the MK II practice grenade, I read about the paint, numbers, fuse etc...it's the small details collectors on this forum know about such as the offset hole...

Thanks for that!

Just alittle more interesting info. Notice the green sealant, that was used on the M10A3 fuze as you have pictured. It was an “ igniter “ type fuze, used to ignite the EC blank powder it was filled with.
The very late war grenade went to TNT filled which required a “ detonator “ type fuze, the M6A4,  they had red sealant and were shorter. They are much harder to find. See pic ( lifted off GB).
