WW1 or 1920's medical pouches

I've had this set of leather medical pouches for 40 years and have never seen any others. All of the items inside are dated 1917 or 1918. The pouches are made by different makers. Does anyone have any info on them?

I have not run across this style of pouch before.  Moving this thread to the Medical section for further discussion. From what I have read and collected over the years, the U.S. did not start standardizing medical equipment until 1913 and everything was cotton web canvas.  These may be pouches that were repurposed with medical supplies after entry into the Great War.  I will continue researching.
