I was going thru my Uncle's stuff from his military career and found the attached  He did serve with the 8th AF during WW2.

Does this badge date to the 40's or is it a more modern creation. It's 1 1/8 inch in diameter.

It’s made in England but not sure when.

Thanks, yeah the catch mechanism suggested England to me too but wasn't sure if it was "old" or not or how long that type mechanism was used . Maybe a reunion piece if more recent?

Looks a bit crude, post-war item for sure. I can agree with the English made assessment.
