Hello has anyone ever come across an example of these attachments on the USN PUC? Anyone have a ribbon bar in their collection with one?

The only time I've seen them "routinely" (that's in quotes because even these aren't everywhere) is on the ribbon sample boards from the different manufacturers. Basically, NOS and unused.

I have a very vague recollection of seeing a globe on a PUC many years ago and getting very excited about it, but I can't place the memory. LOL I can say I haven't seen one in any of the groups I've encountered for many, many years. That said, I haven't been looking for one, but at the same time, they would have absolutely stood out.

Oh, not to stray too far off the topic, but the Gallant Ship ribbon with seahorse is another one that's just not seen that often. I visited multiple recipient veterans and their families and found several conveyance letters, but never the ribbon itself (I have some, but they are also NOS).

Thanks for that info Dave, closest I could find online was a photo of Commander William R. Anderson, USN, resolution not the greatest but can make out an N device. I also must be mistaken as most references note it was a gold N, I thought I read somewhere it was originally blue like the initial award star in WW2?

Also I wonder if there was a Nautilus and Triton veteran that received both? Only a few years apart, possible and even plausible?

A missed opportunity. Many many years ago (30+) I had a chance to purchase the ribbon bar of Commander James Stark who was the Triton's medical officer during their circumnavigation. The set was documented and included his Presidential Unit Citation with the gold globe device and his medical corps dolphins. They were asking $290 which at the time I thought was way too much. Probably my most regretted non-purchase (There have been others.).

I posted a Nautilus PUC from a group I own on the forum….there was an earlier thread on the subject.

One of my family members is a holder of the Triton one with globe.
