yokota57 Posted October 9, 2022 #1 Posted October 9, 2022 Just when you think you have seen every possible manner of patch foolishness on Ebay, tonight this pops up: "RARE Air Force Patch Officers Club RAF Lakenheath * Statue of Liberty". It can be yours for only $850.!!!! I don't have the heart to tell the guy it is a paper drink coaster.
Salvage Sailor Posted October 9, 2022 #2 Posted October 9, 2022 That's a theater made tie blotter, officer's grade
ocsfollowme Posted October 9, 2022 #3 Posted October 9, 2022 I literally just saw this moments before I saw your post. buts it could either be the only one left or there could be a box a 10,000 somewhere
yokota57 Posted October 9, 2022 Author #4 Posted October 9, 2022 Of course, the question is: The seller is fully aware that it is a paper coaster and is hoping to snag a gullible buyer, or the seller is totally clueless and actually thinks it is a "rare patch"!?!?!
ocsfollowme Posted October 10, 2022 #5 Posted October 10, 2022 It could simply be a tactic to get people to look at his other items.
yokota57 Posted October 10, 2022 Author #6 Posted October 10, 2022 You are correct OCS, it certainly is an oft used tactic. I just checked the listing, and it has been marked down to a VERY REASONABLE $500. I'll take two!
