mvmhm Posted September 28, 2022 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2022 We received another great donation today - a World War II-era Chaplain's Kit! This example was used by Navy Chaplain Dean Hofman who served from 1952 to 1962; the WWII kits were carried over into the Korean War and early years in Vietnam. This example is missing a couple pieces, and the family wanted to retain the Cross, so we'll need to do a little restorative work. I believe the brass chalice is probably a replacement piece...there's also three colors for the alter covering, blue, red and maroon. The makers label is on the alter covered and the inside rear of the case/alter. Mark sends

mvmhm Posted September 29, 2022 Author Share #5 Posted September 29, 2022 No joy in Mudville for a date....this company was in business since the early 1900s, and I found a 1969 Navy manual for supply officers that lists the company.
