patches Posted September 20, 2022 #1 Posted September 20, 2022 This is as you'll guess a Screen Catch from the movie The Sand Pebbles, Holman boards the boat's "Motorpan" after the terrible incident in town (Finds his shipmate and buddy Frenchie died from sickness, gets beaten up by Reds, and Frenchie's wife gets murdered by the Reds). This White Flag with what looks like Blue cloverleaf type devices, like the Army's 88th Infantry Division Shoulder Patch, is this a real Navy Flag, never seen it before???
tdurbinmas Posted September 21, 2022 #2 Posted September 21, 2022 It’s a signal flag. The NATO zero flag.
29navy Posted September 21, 2022 #3 Posted September 21, 2022 Even though NATO wouldn't exist for another 26 years, it's still a a number Zero flag.
US82Bravo Posted September 22, 2022 #6 Posted September 22, 2022 From the sixth edition of "THE BLUEJACKETS' MANUAL" - Larry
patches Posted September 23, 2022 Author #7 Posted September 23, 2022 So would this be accurate in the movie as a Jack on this small boat?
