Signed Afghan Flag from Kabul Evacuation 2021

This Afghan flag was one of the few items that I was able to obtain while processing refugees at Camp Upshur following the withdrawal from Afghanistan last year in 2021. In the following months, I've been able to collect over 80 signatures from individuals who directly took part or were involved in the evacuation at Kabul. At the moment, these include members from 2/1 and 1/8 Marines, BLT 1/8, 8th ESB and several refugees, the most prominent of which being Abdul Qayum Rahimi, the former Governor of Herat and Logar Province.

I hope that you enjoy this as much as I do. I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to everyone who has helped out and made this possible. This is still an ongoing project, so if anyone was present/involved would also like to sign, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you all for the kind words! I am glad to have been able to participate and know so many who were also involved in such a historic event. 

 

Eventually once the flag is fully filled out, I'd like to have it framed
