Father was a firearm collector, and passed last year. Finally started cataloging the collecting. Here are some of my 1911's.

I would agree. I have many firearms, and aesthetics is very important to me. A gun not only has to be functionally adequate, but "pretty". It has to be a work of art. The details, craftsmanship, etc. Well made 1911's fall into that category, as does Sig. Sauer for me. 

I own 3 Glocks, and as functional firearms go, some of the best...otherwise, the ugliest pistols ever made (IMO). Like holding a block of wood (or plastic).
