Hello! I would like to ask you, why is this liner painted like this? It's a Westinghouse but on the surface is this full blue painting. Should I bleach (decolorize) this liner oř should I leave it as it is ? Thank you for your answers.

Decolorize it ! I see a vertical grade on the  front of liner :). So be careful !

And we need more photos inside please.

Y’all seeing the remnants of a Lieutenant’s bar or is that just me?  I wouldn’t jump to spraying it down, look closely along the sides for any hints of insignia before you go.  Also, if you do decide to strip it, start in small areas and go slowly as there’s a good chance you can probably save a chunk of the original finish.

I can’t tell if it’s a bar or if it was tape marks from masking the rivets or something? I think he should strip it either way. Liner looks in pretty good shape with no/ minimal webbing damage.

It looks like a very similar blue to the one I’m wearing in this photo from 1967 when I was 4 years old. I was dressed up in what I thought a motorcycle cop would look like…and the cool part was I eventually became one! 👍🏼😁
