An old shipmate contacted me with a question. A friend of his husband, was a W-4 Carpenter at the end of WW2. He enlisted as Carpenters Mate First Class. He then quickly was advanced to Chief Carpenters Mate, then commissioned as a Warrant. His rank is listed as Carpenter E-V (G). I have no list of Officer modifiers. Anyone know what the E-V (G) means?  Thanks.
