I never encountered  into one of these intill I received a WIA grouping to Bernard Anthony Boiteux who served with the 6th marine division on Okinawa. His name is stenciled into his towel on the corner B.A Boiteux. His variation is pictured above. A interesting piece of usmc history for sure thanks for sharing.

Thanks for showing this great comprehensive collection! My wife just came across one with a blue stripe that says “UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS” and we were trying to date it.
