CSomers Posted August 10, 2022 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2022 I recently saw an ad locally on Facebook Marketplace for “WWII GP Small Canvas Tent”. I made contact with the individual and he advised he had what he thought was a GP Small and some unknown canvas army tent. I took an hour drive and am glad I did. When I arrived, I looked at the “GP Small” which was in fact a 1950 Small Wall. There’s patches on it and will need some more repairs. To be honest, I wasn’t really interested in the larger canvas tent but decided to take a look at it anyhow. When he brought it out, I knew he didn’t know what he had! Unrolled, I was able to see and make out it’s a Small Wall dated faintly 1942! I ended up leaving with both! I got a great deal as I paid less for both than what I’ve been seeing a single Small Wall going for. Both need repairs and didn’t have poles however I’m planning on making frames for them anyhow. if anyone has any information on the 1942 one such as maker etc, please let me know. earlymb Posted August 11, 2022 Share #2 Posted August 11, 2022 Nice catch! There has been a whole topic recently about the original poles you maybe able to use for reference.

I am actually planning on making a frame for them instead of poles as I plan on setting them up at events and a frame would be easier and safer with the general public. Plus, I believe a frame could be less stress on the tent overall.
