I recently had my best friend pass away and he left me his military collection. I has been bittersweet as I am honored to be the caretaker of his collection but I would rather have him with me. A came across this time capsule that he packed away years ago of a named WWII tank officer. I know he is from Ohio but little else.

Yes I am 99 percent sure as my most of my friends Items cam from Ohio and Kentucky veterans as he lived in Cincinnati. I found a listing for a Leroy S. Brown on find a grave that may be him but I have put in a request for a photo of his headstone. he is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.

Sorry about your friend.  I believe this is your guy - Leroy Starbuck (Star) Brown - seems he originally was enlisted and was later commissioned.
