donaldnol Posted July 31, 2022 #1 Posted July 31, 2022 i have this navy good conduct medal i got recently with the named submarine USS TREPANG SSN-674 THE RIBBON SUBSPENSION IS 9MM AND STAMPED LIGI ERA 1991-96 ONLY IN GOOD CONDITION, JUST ASKING DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW THE NAME WAS PLACED ON THE BACK? THANK YOU
Dave Posted July 31, 2022 #2 Posted July 31, 2022 It was engraved using a pantograph with a diamond bit. It's interesting because it looks like they used a standard font, but didn't have the pantograph arms set at the same setting, so the engraving came out elongated instead of how it's supposed to look.
donaldnol Posted July 31, 2022 Author #3 Posted July 31, 2022 very interesting what i was thing it was press in stamping thanks dave
