how was this navy medal engraved?

i have this navy good conduct medal i got recently with the named submarine USS TREPANG SSN-674 THE RIBBON SUBSPENSION IS 9MM AND STAMPED LIGI ERA 1991-96 ONLY IN GOOD CONDITION, JUST ASKING DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW THE NAME WAS PLACED ON THE BACK? THANK YOU

It was engraved using a pantograph with a diamond bit. It's interesting because it looks like they used a standard font, but didn't have the pantograph arms set at the same setting, so the engraving came out elongated instead of how it's supposed to look.
