My M1 fixed bail helmet, with ''Firestone'' liner.

There is a serial numer in the helmet shell: 32513878 and a laundry number in the liner: Z-5994.

Hard to find any person related to the 99th.

Have not seen that frontal insignia before....   I need to do some homework on this one..?   Looks like it has a second repaint, lighter OD green with lots of thinner over the early WW2 OD, like done late war and post WW2.  Is that a sticker or is that painted on the front...?    Not questioning authenticity in any way here.   Just very intrigued by this one....    Some very close ups of the insignia would be cool.   And no data on that laundry number....?    I think this one could be figured out.  Maybe....  Cool looking lid for sure.       Regards, Chris

That the IDs don’t match between the liner and shell could mean put-together, or reissued - impossible to know.

The insignia on the front reminds me of the Korean-era decals.

Thanks for your reply guys, indeed this is a decal that is a sort of sticker.
the 99th did this allot in 1945 when they where stationed in Germany, normaly you saw it on the helmet liners, and sometimes on the helmet shell.
The 99th was not active during the Korea war.
