manayunkman Posted July 26, 2022 Share #1 Posted July 26, 2022 These flags were brought back by Tom Hendricks who was an armor advisor.
VMI88 Posted July 26, 2022 Share #2 Posted July 26, 2022 The red and green flag is similar to one I posted in this thread: Mine has a white star, however. I still don't know if the colors have any significance or if they're just random variations.

Dave T Posted July 27, 2022 Share #4 Posted July 27, 2022 Ineresting. The signifigance of the flag with "green" bottom is that it isnt Viet Nam. Some other nation. Actually on a different continent....Africa. I have sesn hanging outside their embassy while biking in the area. I forget which country, I will have to look it up and get back. Flag always intrigued me because of its resemblance to an NVA flag. Update: "Burkina Faso" flag. Red represents the "Revolution". Green the agricultural abundance and natural resources. Yellow the supervisory light of the Revolution. However, it wasnt adopted until 1984. So it seems Burkina Faso simply used one of the variations of NVA flag. Ivydiv Posted July 27, 2022 Share #5 Posted July 27, 2022 Years ago I saw a picture of the Viet Cong green and red flag hanging in a Vietnamese hooch. It looked like it was on some kind of shower curtain material. Can't remember where I saw it. Dave

manayunkman Posted August 5, 2022 Author Share #10 Posted August 5, 2022 Anyone know more about the hammer and cycle flag? I bought one from a veteran years ago and they told me that theirs came from a Russian advisor. This is the second one in 50 plus years I’ve found.
