Is this a WW2 practice grenade?

Body condition looks to be normal. Blue paint and cork in the larger hole of the bottom is as it should be for a nice practice Mk2 Grenade. When these were used in live fire practice at the range a small amount of black powder was in them, and the fuses were live. The corked bottom was to be blown out and the smoke would indicate the location of the grenade's impact point.

Thank you PGC I didn’t know about the cork.

I thought the veteran had stuck a wine cork in it.

That's one of the nicest ones I've seen, as I research one I just got.

Thank you for the comment and it looks like you found a nice one.
