I have been offered this helmet for $1100

I’m wandering if y’all think this helmet has the original paint and is correct.
also is the price given a good price for this helmet considering if the stripes on the helmet are original?

That's a great helmet, priced on the high side in my opinion. Sets like that don't come around too often though.

I don't think it would be rude or obnoxious to comeback in the $800-$900 dollar range but not more than that. Beautiful helmet.

I would have bought that in a heart beat.

Named (his name and serial number are a work of art) researchable with a very hard to find leadership stripe and matching liner.

If this vet turns out to be a combat soldier all the better.

I hope you have it.

manayunkman

Great find from a 10th Armored who Im sure was in or close to combat from the end of 1944 until victory in Europe.

Could not agree more about the penmanship! It's a gorgeous helmet.

Here is a link for "After action report, 55th Armored Engineer Battalion, 10th Armored Division, November and December 1944, January thru May 1945."

It appears that you must register for the site before accessing all the AARs. Who knows, maybe the helmets owner is mentioned in them.
