possum Posted February 24, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2009 Hi, Some of you guys may well have seen my thread on the WW2 M1 Chaplains liner I have recently purchased. For the full story, please see the thread in this link: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...showtopic=37273 I've upoladed some pictures to this thread, so that people can see what needs to be done without having to jump between the 2. Basically, I need to remove the outer layer of spray paint as delicately as possible, whilst preserving the underneath. I need some help from someone who has done this sort of thing before, as I don't want to get this wrong! All advice listened to; I'm somewhat of a newcomer when it comes to restoring shells and liners. I look foward to some feedback. Many thanks, Jon
frederik.geudens Posted June 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi Jon! Yesterday I posted a question about a 1953 Micarta helmet liner I bought. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...0&start=140 The blue metallic color looks identical to the color of your helmet liner. It is also spray painted but mine has a gold band along the rim added. Do you know more about the origins of your liner? TIA, Frederik
Airborne-Hunter Posted June 24, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 24, 2009 I believe there was a topic about this in the helmet section not too long ago. Best Wishes ABN
