illinigander Posted July 8, 2022 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2022 Does anyone have a decent photo or print of the 1917 Quartermaster Cart? Did they always have steel wheels as found on WW2 examples? Thanks, illinigander
Major Z Posted July 14, 2022 Share #2 Posted July 14, 2022 Have you tried looking deeper on the US Army Quartermaster Corps Museum website? https://qmmuseum.lee.army.mil/main.html?n=1 If you can't find it there, seek out Kevin Born. He uploaded most of what you'll find on the website above. He's a wealth of QMC knowledge!
robinb Posted July 15, 2022 Share #3 Posted July 15, 2022 The steel wheels are listed in the QM supply catalog as Model of 1940 wheels. So, any cart before 1940 would have wooden wheels.
illinigander Posted July 28, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted July 28, 2022 Thanks robin for that information. Will check their site. Our museum has recently been donated four metal wheels of the same pattern as the MG Cart, but about ten inches smaller in height. Wonder what they were made for. We received them from a military source. illinigander.
